I was having some toe pain once I started racing and riding harder than I had recreationally in the past. I had used inexpensive shoes, but I wasn't on my bike 10 hours a week! I tried Bonts, Shimano RX8 and Sidi Dominators. All at the same time. The Dominators had a strange sole bending your foot to their design. The Shimano's were nice - but twice the price of the Bont's. They weren't much lighter, and the sole was not as tough for gravel abuse. The Bonts had the best toe space, and I liked the stiffness of the sole. The BOA works great

I can't understand why all the other shoe companies smash our toes together. Its important they have space! Thats why i chose these over SIDI or Shimano RX8's. However, the foot bed sides is kinda hard. Not fun to walk in, but very stiff on the bike. I think I'll keep them forever!
It’s a good shoe! I wish there was a similar shoe with an even wider toe box and some more flex in the sole. These are great road biking shoes because they have a stiff sole and are reasonably comfortable. For real mountain biking which includes hiking I’d like more comfort and flex while retaining the ability to clip in.
I love my new Bonts! Nice and stiff. They fit great, although about a half size small, in my estimation. I usually take a 7 1/2 to an 8 US, and I had to order an 8.5 US. Anyway, I think my biggest wish would be that if a size didn't fit, there should be free returns if returning for a different size. Rapha did that for a pair of road shoes I purchased a few years back, and that really impressed me, customer service wise. I would recommend these shoes to anyone, especially if you find that your feet fall asleep in other shoes. I do not experience that anymore, with my new Bonts.
I usually wear sandals and because of that my toes are in a more natural spread out position, especially my big toe. Due to this I have difficulty finding a shoe that doesn't squish my toes together and often have to go a size up, leaving a lot to be desired. These shoes in "Asian Fit" width fit me quite well. The heel is also fairly narrow compared to other shoes and fits good, although it could stand to be a bit narrower. I have replaced the original insole with a Specialized one to increase the arch support. My only slight complaint is the tongue is loose and needs to be pulled up before cinching up the shoe. Other than that the quality and build are excellent for the price.
Not happy I have to write this review, but I have not had a positive experience dealing with Bont Cycling. After going through the sizing exercise with the sales team and submitting traces of my foot, the shoes ended up being way too big. I expressed my interest in exchanging for the correct size and was told I would have to pay to return the items and then re-order. I went to the local courier and was told it would be $55 to ship the shoes back. I decided that was just way too much money as I had already spent a great deal on these shoes. After explaining this to customer service I was told "that is our policy" and there is no other option. I have ordered and exchanged shoes from multiple other companies and they always include a return slip. This makes sense. If a company wants to provide direct order service, they need to make it easy on the customer and these types of returns/exchanges need to be built into the business model. I would have been a loyal customer with repeat business for years to come, now instead, I will not support this brand and I certainly will not have anything positive to say about it. And I find it very strange that they would ask for my review when multiple staff members are aware of my bad experience.
As usual, a lot of shoe at a great price from Bont. Nice sized toe box for my hobbit feet, boa system and heat moldable. This time I decided not to heat mold as they’re perfect out of the box. Big thanks to the Bont team❤️
The other brand of shoes that I was using were high volume (HV), which meant the soles were normal shoe width with extra material added to the upper.... so my wide feet were still squished. My other shoes were probably great for someone with fat narrow feet, but not wide feet. The Bont Riot MTB soles are actually wide and accomadate my wide feet. I usually wear a 45 size shoe and the size 45 Bont shoe fit perfectly. Heat molding the Bont shoes was also very easy. I found a YouTube video and followed the instructions, they fit like a glove and are half the weight of my other "HV" shoes that I was using. Highly Recommend!
At the price point, I'm not sure there is a better shoe out there for me. I have a wide forefoot and a narrow heel. Contemplated buying the wide, but the standard was wide enough. I used the sizing guide to accurately make my purchase. I love how stiff the sole is and the shoes is very comfortable from the first ride. Have a few hundred miles in them now. My advice - Don't wait. Buy them sooner than later.

NEW SIZING METHOD
To find your Bont Cycling shoe size, download and print our all-new sizing page in A4 or Letter and follow the instructions exactly as listed. Mark with a straight edge your longest toe and widest part of your foot. Double check the length and width with a ruler to confirm your measurements. Be advised, this is a newly developed sizing page so please send any feedback to our team by clicking the red 'speech bubble' in the corner of the page.
To find your size, place a piece of paper on a flat surface and place it directly up against a wall. Stand on the paper and ensure you have a 1mm gap between your heel and the wall. Plant your foot firmly on the ground and slowly roll your weight forward and onto the forefoot. For the most effective longest toe measurement, your heel should lift off the ground slight. Look down and take the measurement from the wall edge of the paper to your longest toe. Record the length. With your foot still in place, mark the widest points of the inner and outer edges of your feet. Measure the width across the widest part of your foot and record the number in millimeters. Repeat this step for both feet.
Once the measurements have been taken, use the Foot Length Range on the size chart to find your size. The Last Length measurements shown on the chart are the exact length of the last that we use to build the shoes. This correlates to the precise internal measurement of the shoe.
Following selection of your size in EU or USA, move downward to select the most appropriate width. We recommend adding 1mm to find the most appropriate width. For example, you are looking at a Vaypor S and have determined your best shoe size is 45 and your feet measure 105mm (left) and 107mm (right) wide, with an additional 1mm added, you would still fit within the Standard Range. If your feet measure wide than 109/110mm (size 45/10.5) you should consider Wide fit.
NOTE: The stated size width range does not reflect the actual width of the shoe. Bont Cycling shoes are designed with structural support throughout the entire length including the forefoot and as such, the measured shoe width is designed to appropriately support the foot within the shoe. The width of the shoe will almost always be narrower than your foot which is intentional in order to provide the necessary support.
Please also keep in mind Bont Cycling shoes are designed around an anatomically correct last suitable for cycling however, this does not mean they are built in the 'bare foot' running shoe style.
