These are my first pairs of Bont Shoes, but not my last. They are so stiff it's incredible, full Power Transfer in 1 direction and I use Solestar Insoles that make them even stiffer. The insoles are hard to insert and get out due the stiffness of the show, but I have found some workarounds. I have been a Shimano S-Phyre shoe person for the last 10 pairs, but they will be back-ups only now, I am looking at buying a second pair of Bonts shortly

I love these shoes. They're a massive upgrade from my previous generation Vaypors, BUT the arch support is not anywhere near as good as the previous Vaypors with straps. During my first ride, my arches were collapsing, resulting in my foot elongating and my toes pushing into the end of the shoe when I pedaled standing up or really dropped the hammer. If I sized up, (I bought the same size as my old shoes, and I confirmed my size with the size chart) the toe problem would have gone away but my collapsing arch would have likely caused issues down the road. I bought a pair of Solestar Kontrol insoles, which not only fixed the issue, but also snugged the fit of the upper around my instep by taking up some extra volume in the shoe. They now fit like a glove. I don't have an "arch issue" with my feet, but if you need support, be ready to get aftermarket insoles. If I thought arch support would be a deal breaker for everybody, I would have given this shoe a much lower rating. Overall, I don't think there's a better shoe out there. I will probably ride nothing but Bonts for the rest of my life. Shoes are very personal and there is no perfect solution for everybody. If you're shopping for this caliber shoe, you are probably well aware of this though. I'm certain any experienced rider who switches to Bonts will never consider going back.
Best shoe if ever had, I have a wide foot and it’s the first time I can ride for as many hours as I need to without foot pain
This shoe was my second attempt at Bont. I got my MTB Riot for gravel biking a few months ago. The reason I got Bont was to try them out for their known comfort for wide fee. I bought the MTB shoe without measuring my feet so it is a size or two large. After an hour of wearing it, my feet get numb, perhaps due to the size? For the Vapor S, I measured my feet and got the shoe that was recommended by the size chart. It is extremely snug and I have a hard time getting it on. Once on, the comfort varies given the day. However, what is consistent is that my feet gets numb within an hour. I would recommend buying half a size up based on the size chart if one wants to put on the shoe easily.
Got these in November 2021 after almost a 2-month wait, but that was mentioned during the time of purchase. I really want to make these shoes work, but they keep hurting my feet from the top where the Boas are. I've cooked them 4 times, and I just can't seem to get rid of the sharp pain where where the Boa injects into the top of my foot. Am I doing something wrong? Other than that, the quality of the shoe is best I've ever ridden (racer since '96). They are stiff and transfer the power superbly which can really be felt when out of the saddle sprinting or climbing.

NEW SIZING METHOD
To find your Bont Cycling shoe size, download and print our all-new sizing page in A4 and follow the instructions exactly as listed. Mark with a straight edge your longest toe and widest part of your foot. Double check the length and width with a ruler to confirm your measurements. Be advised, this is a newly developed sizing page so please send any feedback to our team by clicking the red 'speech bubble' in the corner of the page.
To find your size, place a piece of paper on a flat surface and place it directly up against a wall. Stand on the paper and ensure you have a 1mm gap between your heel and the wall. Plant your foot firmly on the ground and slowly roll your weight forward and onto the forefoot. For the most effective longest toe measurement, your heel should lift off the ground slight. Look down and take the measurement from the wall edge of the paper to your longest toe. Record the length. With your foot still in place, mark the widest points of the inner and outer edges of your feet. Measure the width across the widest part of your foot and record the number in millimeters. Repeat this step for both feet.
Once the measurements have been taken, use the Foot Length Range on the size chart to find your size. The Last Length measurements shown on the chart are the exact length of the last that we use to build the shoes. This correlates to the precise internal measurement of the shoe.
Following selection of your size in EU or USA, move downward to select the most appropriate width. We recommend adding 1mm to find the most appropriate width. For example, you are looking at a Vaypor S and have determined your best shoe size is 45 and your feet measure 105mm (left) and 107mm (right) wide, with an additional 1mm added, you would still fit within the Standard Range. If your feet measure wide than 109/110mm (size 45/10.5) you should consider Wide fit.
NOTE: The stated size width range does not reflect the actual width of the shoe. Bont Cycling shoes are designed with structural support throughout the entire length including the forefoot and as such, the measured shoe width is designed to appropriately support the foot within the shoe. The width of the shoe will almost always be narrower than your foot which is intentional in order to provide the necessary support.
Please also keep in mind Bont Cycling shoes are designed around an anatomically correct last suitable for cycling however, this does not mean they are built in the 'bare foot' running shoe style.
